About Me

Hi, I’m Amy Shaitelman.

I’m a licensed psychotherapist providing clinical and counseling services to individuals, couples, and families. My work is grounded in neuroscience and informed by evidence-based approaches to mental health, trauma, and well-being.

I’m licensed in Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, and Colorado, with advanced training and certifications in Psychedelic-Assisted Psychotherapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and cognitive neuroscience. For more than a decade, I’ve collaborated with clinicians, researchers, and physicians to bring an interdisciplinary perspective to my work.

Put simply, I'm in the field of getting folks unstuck.

I work extensively with the impact of trauma, mood disorders, substance use, chronic illness, and deeply ingrained patterns that can keep people feeling disconnected from themselves or unable to move forward. I also work with individuals preparing for psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy, helping them approach the experience with intention, psychological preparation, and a strong therapeutic foundation.

My approach is direct, curious, compassionate, and culturally responsive. I believe good therapy requires a willingness to understand the whole person—not just a diagnosis or a collection of symptoms. That means taking the time to understand each client’s history, culture, relationships, identity, values, and belief system.

My practice welcomes people across race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, kink and sexual expression, relationship structure and status, gender identity, immigration status, religion, and ability.

All are welcome who honor the differences-and the humanity-we share.
